Chris Huband is a partner who practices commercial real estate law at the Toronto office of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Practice focuses on the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties, including office buildings, shopping centers, development properties, apartments and industrial buildings. Advises pension funds and their advisors on rules particular to real estate investments by pension funds. Also practices in the areas of mortgage financing, real estate joint ventures and the development of real property. Recent transactions include the purchase of an undivided 30 per cent interest in the six-tower Toronto-Dominion Centre and a nearby downtown Toronto development site on behalf of Ontario Pension Board and the sale of an undivided 50 per cent interest in a 4.2 million square foot portfolio of seven office buildings located in Toronto and Calgary on behalf of Oxford Properties Group.
