Advises clients on all aspects of Canadian competition and foreign investment review law. Previously acted as Senior Deputy Commissioner of Competition in charge of the Competition Bureau’s Mergers Branch and as Special Counsel to Canada’s Commissioner of Competition. Often represents parties in significant merger transactions, international and domestic criminal investigations, and abuse of dominance and misleading advertising cases. Has acted as counsel for private parties and the Commissioner of Competition in numerous proceedings before the Competition Tribunal and in class actions and other complex, litigated proceedings at all levels of court in Canada, both provincially and federally. Adam has also acted for parties in inquiries under the criminal provisions of the Competition Act, including immunity and leniency applicants.
