Won J. Kim is the founding principal of Kim Orr Barristers and one of Canada’s preeminent class action litigators. Certified by The Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, Won is widely respected for his extensive litigation and advocacy expertise. He is ranked in many peer review publications including Benchmark Canada; this publication, The Lexpert®/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada; and in the Lexpert® Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-border Litigation Lawyers, the most discerning guides on the subject of top legal talent in Canada. Won is a frequent lecturer in Canada and the US on class actions and litigation-related matters. Since 1994 he has served as Editor-In-Chief of Canadian Cases on the Law of Insurance. In 2011, Won launched the Kim Orr Class Action Monitor, a bi-weekly reporter that provides updates and commentary on material developments in the Canadian class actions bar. Published by Thomson Westlaw, the Monitor is widely available in both print and online format in Canada, the US and internationally. Won is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Ontario Museum.
