Crombie Purchases 20 Shopping Centres

Goldmanco Incorporated and its related companies closed the sale of 20 shopping centres located in Ontario and one in each of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, to Crombie Limited Partnership, for a purchase price of $254,647,104.

The purchaser was represented by Stewart McKelvey, by a team led by Jim Dickson, which included Deanne MacLeod (acquisition); Fraser MacFadyen (finance); and assisted by Benjamin Fairbanks, Matthew Newell, Jessica White, Ryan Baker and Andrea Shakespeare.

The vendor was represented by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, by a team led by Jules Mikelberg, which included Michael Toshakovski (real estate) and Paul Bleiwas (tax). Agent for the Vendor in Manitoba was John Toone at Pitblado LLP. Agent for the vendor in Saskatchewan was Jim Gorkoff at McKercher LLP.

Local counsel for the purchaser were Marty Middlestadt, Avi Sugar and Jennifer Atkins Mandel at Fogler, Rubinoff LLP in Ontario; Richard Yaffe at Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP in Manitoba; and Robert Kasian and Aaron Runge at MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP in Saskatchewan.
