H&R Real Estate Investment Trust Completes Bought Deal Financing

H&R Real Estate Investment Trust (H&R REIT) completed a bought deal financing pursuant to which they issued $175 million principal amount of 3.344 per cent Series G senior debentures due June 20, 2018. The debentures were sold to a syndicate of underwriters co-led by RBC Capital Markets and CIBC, and including TD Securities Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., National Bank Financial Inc., Canaccord Genuity Corp. and Raymond James Ltd.

The net proceeds from the financing will be used by H&R REIT to repay outstanding indebtedness incurred under existing credit facilities, thereby enabling H&R REIT to have greater financial capacity to pursue future acquisitions and developments, and otherwise for general trust purposes.

H&R REIT was represented by Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP with a team that included William Fung, Eric Moncik, Mat-thew Merkley and Adrian Cochrane (securities); and Jeffrey Trossman, Andrew Spiro and Ilan Braude (tax) and Peter MacGowan (financial services).

The underwriters were represented by Goodmans LLP with a team that included Allan Goodman and Geoff Cowper-Smith (securities); and Ken Herlin (real estate) and Mark Biderman (tax).
