OMERS Sells Office Towers in Toronto

University and King Toronto Limited Partnership, managed by Germany-based KG Allgemeine Leasing GmbH & Co. (KGAL), acquired, on June 25, 2003, the two office towers located at 11 King Street West and 70 University Avenue in Toronto, from OMERS Realty Corporation. The value of the deal is undisclosed. First loan financing for the two projects was provided by Arca Investments Inc.

KGAL was represented by in-house counsel Dr. Britta Nonnenmacher, and by Robert Hull (corporate), Mark McHughan and Faithe Holder (real estate), Tim Wach and Vince Imerti (tax) and Ian Macdonald (competition) of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP.

OMERS, Borealis Real Estate Management and Oxford Properties Group were represented by Jim Hilton and Stephanie Simmons (real estate) and Michael Piaskoski (competition) of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, assisted by in-house counsel Nancy Prenevost, Oxford Properties.

Arca Investments was represented by Maggie Brady and Jillian Shortt of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. Michael Slan of Fogler, Rubinoff LLP represented the landlord group at 70 University Avenue. 1 KingWest Inc./Mirvish Productions was represented by Leonard Gangbar of Miller Thomson LLP.
