SITQ Buys $700 M Portfolio of Properties from TrizecHahn Corp.

SITQ Immobilier (SITQ), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (Caisse), completed the acquisition from TrizecHahn Corporation in April, 2000 of a $700 million portfolio comprising Montreal’s landmark Place Ville-Marie complex, the Bell Tower, 1010 Sherbrook West, 2020 University and 360 Saint Jacques. This is the largest portfolio of office buildings ever sold in a single transaction in Quebec.

Goodman Phillips & Vineberg in Montreal represented SITQ on the transaction with a team of lawyers that consisted of Pierre-André Themens assisted by Alan Golden, Rita lc DeSantis, Robert J. Abrams, Michel Pelletier, Hillel Rosen (competition) and Hélène Lafond, General Counsel of SITQ. TrizecHahn retained Greg Howard assisted by Kent Beattie of Davies, Ward & Beck and Mario Caron of Ogilvy Renault (Montreal).
