$800M Amalgamation of PowerStream and Barrie Hydro

On December 31, 2008, PowerStream Inc. and Barrie Hydro Distribution Inc. amalgamated their electricity distribution businesses to form PowerStream Inc., the second-largest municipally owned electricity distribution company in Ontario, creating a utility with $800 million in combined assets providing service to more than 310,000 residential and business customers in Simcoe County and York Region.

PowerStream Inc.'s legal team was represented by in-house counsel Dennis Nolan, executive vice president corporate services and secretary. PowerStream Inc. was also represented by Borden Ladner Gervais LLP with a team comprised of Frank Callaghan, William McLean, Christine Long, Eric Dufour and Angela Lin.
