Agnico Finance

Francis S. Callaghan and Howard S. Silverman of Borden & Elliot acted for the arrangers, Barclays Bank PLC and Deutsche Bank AG, and for a syndicate of lenders, consisting of The Bank of Nova Scotia (Administrative Agent), Deutsche Bank Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Standard Bank London Limited, Dresdner Bank Canada, National Bank of Canada and NM Rothschild & Sons Limited, in connection with a US$100 million 8-year lending facility to Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited. The facility is intended in part to finance the expansion of Agnico-Eagle Mine Limited’s LaRonde Mine near Cadillac, Quebec.

The Borden & Elliot team also included Robert B. MacLellan, Carlyn D. Klebuc, Terrance A. Sweeney and Karen Legate. Xeno C. Martis and David Lemieux of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP were co-counsel in Quebec to the lending syndicate. Berl Nadler, Andrew L. Welsh, Erinn E.
