Bell Canada Acquires Infostream Technologies

On May 27, 2004, Bell Canada acquired all of the outstanding shares in the capital of Infostream Technologies Inc., a Toronto-based provider of turnkey and customer specific networking solutions for VoIP, storage area networks and network management services for Enterprise customers. The purchase price was not publicly disclosed.

Bell Canada was represented by Miguel Baz, senior counsel, with support from a team from Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt that included Shahir Guindi, Iain Scott and Frédéric Dionne (corporate) and Mark Brender (tax) in Montreal, Melanie Polowin (employment) in Ottawa, and David Surat, Chad Bayne and Cory Freed (technology) in Toronto.

Infostream and certain selling shareholders were represented by lead counsel Louis Alexopoulos and a team composed of Joseph Mucci, John Yiokaris and John Sotos of Sotos Associates, with support from a team from Bratty and Partners that included Stephen Marano, Joseph De Tommaso and Nickolas Vlitas. Certain other selling shareholders were represented by Gowling Lafleur Henderson, with a team that included Shashi Malik (tax, corporate) and Gail Black (trusts) in Calgary, and Rhonda Jansen (employment) in Toronto.
