Bombardier Sells Military Aviation Services Unit

Bombardier sold its military aviation services unit to L-3 Communications MAS (Canada) Inc., an affiliate of New York-based L-3 Communications Corp. and Canadian-based Spar Aerospace Ltd. The deal closed on October 31, 2003. The sale of this unit was made for approximately US$87.4 million.

Bombardier was represented in-house by Guy Dionne, director, legal; and Catherine Ross, counsel; in Canada by Ogilvy Renault, with a team that included Renaud Coulombe, Luc Boucher, Félix Duval and Dustin Isaacs (corporate), Jules Charette (tax), Richard Wagner (competition and regulatory approvals), Miguel Manzano (real estate) and Leanne Souquet (intellectual property); and in the US by Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP, with a team that included Alexi Poretz and Andrew Hastings (corporate) in New York and Howard Stanislawski (regulatory approvals) in Washington, DC.

L-3 was represented by in-house counsel Ronald Mandler; in Canada by Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, with a team that included Frank Callaghan, Christopher Toal and Conor Fitzpatrick (corporate), Sylvie Bouvette (real estate) and Adam Fanaki (competition).
