Canada Raises US$3B from Bond Offering

Canada completed an offering of US$3 billion 0.875 per cent bonds due February 14, 2017. The underwriters were Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc., RBC Capital Markets, LLC BMO Capital Markets Corp., CIBC World Markets Corp., National Bank Financial Inc., Scotia Capital (USA) Inc., TD Securities (USA) LLC, Casgrain & Company Limited, Desjardins Securities Inc. and Laurentian Bank Securities Inc.

Canada was represented by Martin Marcone, Legal Counsel, Department of Justice Canada, as to Canadian law, and Robert Mullen Jr., Jenny Zhou and Jeremy Steckel (securities) of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, as US counsel.
