Canadian Steel Producers Win Trade Decision

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal recently applied anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled steel imports worth $432 million, dumped by nine exporting countries. This was one of the largest Canadian cases ever before the Tribunal. The hearing took place on August 17, 2001.
This case was initiated by a complaint filed by Algoma Steel Inc. in December 2000. Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP represented Canadian producers, Algoma and Ispat Sidbec Inc. The Osler team consisted of Ronald Cheng, Gregory Somers and Paul Colin.
