Capital Power acquires the thermal power business of Veresen

On April 13, 2017, Capital Power Corporation (Capital Power or the Company) (TSX: CPX) announced that it had successfully completed the acquisition of Veresen Inc.’s two gas-fired generation facilities in Ontario, consisting of the 84 MW East Windsor Cogeneration Centre and a 50 per cent interest in the 400 MW York Energy Centre.

Capital Power was represented in-house by Jeff Piercy, Associate General Counsel, and by Dentons Canada LLP with a team lead by Bill Gilliland, and including Toby Allan, Dan Shea, Jessica Myers, Allen Garson, Vivek Bakshi, Ron Stuber and Shoshana Webber (corporate), Kori Williams (finance), Barry Zalmanowitz and Sandy Walker (competition), Derek Kurrant (tax) and Fausto Franchesci (employment).
