On July 3, 2008, CW Media Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Canwest Global Communications Corp., completed a US$312 million senior notes financing in a private offering.
The deal was led by a team at Canwest consisting of Richard Leipsic, Riva Richard and Nancy Zettler. Simpson Thacher was US counsel to CW Media Holdings Inc., with a team that included Richard Fenyes, Patrick Baron and Jorge Medina. Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP was Canadian counsel to CW Media Holdings Inc., with a team that included Doug Marshall, Jeremy Fraiberg, David Hanick and Sherry Wilcox (corporate), Michael Matheson (financial services) and Julie Colden (tax).
Latham & Watkins was US counsel to the initial purchasers, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Lehman Brothers Inc., with a team that included Alison Keith and Benjamin Miles, and Ogilvy Renault LLP was Canadian counsel to the initial purchasers with a team that included Geoffrey Gilbert (corporate) and Barry Segal (tax).
