Henry Schein Acquires Ash Temple's Dental Distribution Business

On January 11, 2005, Henry Schein, Inc., the largest provider of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets, through its Canadian subsidiary, Henry Schein Arcona Inc., acquired the dental distribution business of Ash Temple Ltd., a privately held, full-service dental distributor based in Concord, Ontario with revenues of approximately US$100 million this past fiscal year. Ash Temple will be combined with Henry Schein Arcona Inc. and operate Henry Schein's Canadian dental business under the new name Henry Schein Ash Arcona Inc. The amount of the deal is undisclosed.

Henry Schein and Henry Schein Arcona were represented by Stikeman Elliott LLP with a team that included Simon Romano, Samantha Horn, Vivian Leung, Wendy Yu and Julie Thibault (labour and employment), Sandy Walker (competition), Lianne Miller (tax) and Mario Paura and Savvas Kotsopoulos (real estate).
