Hunt Oil's $915M Takeover of Chieftain

On August 3, 2001, Hunt Oil Company of Dallas completed a $915 million takeover bid for Edmonton-based Chieftain International, Inc.

Hunt Oil was represented in the acquisition by a team from Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP comprised of Shawn McReynolds and Peter Westcott (M&A), Siobhan Monaghan and Colin Campbell (tax) and Julie Soloway (competition).
