Hydro Agri Canada and Cargill Merge Agriculture Retail Operations

Hydro Agri Canada L.P. and Cargill Limited have merged their agriculture retail operations in Quebec and Eastern Ontario, effective January 15, 2002. The value of the deal is undisclosed.

Hydro Agri is a member of the Norsk Hydro group, one of the world’s largest producers and marketers of fertilizer. Hydro Agri is a major wholesaler and retailer providing mineral and organic fertilizers, and seed and crop protection products to the wholesale agricultural market and the horticultural market.

Cargill Limited is the Canadian subsidiary of Cargill Incorporated, an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services. In Canada, Cargill Limited employs more than five thousand people in grain, feed, seed, farm supply, fertilizer manufacturing, malting barley, meat, canola, salt, sweeteners, eggs and flax fibre processing businesses.
