Kinross Completes US$500M Financing

On September 20, 2006, Kinross Gold Corporation entered into a credit agreement establishing a US$300 million revolving term facility and US$200 million term facility with a syndicate of banks led by The Bank of Nova Scotia.

Kinross was represented by Geoff Gold, senior vice-president and chief legal officer of Kinross, Bruce Bell of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Scott Loveless of Parr Waddoups Brown Gee & Loveless, as US counsel and Claudio Lampert and Sérgio Salluh of Veirano Advogados, as Brazilian counsel.

The Bank of Nova Scotia and the syndicate were represented by Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Canada with a team that included John Torrey, Tom Meagher and Dave Ferris (banking) and Kathleen Hanly and Ron Choudhury (taxation). Vickie Gilbert of Kaye Scholer LLP was US counsel and Tiago Lessa of Pinheiro Neto Advogados was Brazilian counsel.
