KONE Establishes €1B Medium Term Note Programme

The KONE Group consisting of KONE Corporation (Finland), KONE Holdings (Canada) Inc. and KONÉ France S.A. established a €1 billion Medium Term Note Programme on May 4, 2001. The joint arrangers for the transaction were Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and Nordea and the members of the dealer group were Salomon Brothers International Limited, ABN AMRO Bank NV, BNP Paribas, OKO Bank and SEB Merchant Banking.

Tim Carsley, Brian Schneiderman, Rick Shannon, Betsy Mitchell and Vivian Cyriacopoulos in Montreal and Paul Mingay and Brian Keith in Toronto, all of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, acted on behalf of the Canadian issuer, KONE Holdings (Canada) Inc., and Matthew Hartley and Andrew Brodie of Allen & Overy in London, England, acted for the dealers.
