Mississauga and Sheridan Sign Ground Lease Agreement

The City of Mississauga and Sheridan College have signed a 95-year ground lease agreement for prime downtown City-owned lands allowing for the establishment of Sheridan's Phase 2 building of the Hazel McCallion Campus. The Phase 2 building is slated to open in the fall of 2016 on the existing campus, located at Duke of York Blvd between Prince of Wales Dr. and Rathburn Rd. W., across from Square One.

The new facility is planned to feature state-of-the-art classrooms, computer laboratories, a creativity centre, faculty offices, and a gallery space.

The building will compliment Sheridan's current HMC facility, which opened in September 2011.

The City of Mississauga was represented by in-house legal counsel Domenic Tudino, with the assistance of colleague Joseph Fudge. Sheridan was represented by its General Counsel, Alexa Abiscott, with external representation by Gordon Willcocks of McCarthy Tétrault LLP.
