On December 15, 2000, Mosaic Group Inc. (Mosaic), a Toronto-based sales and marketing services provider, completed its acquisition of Paradigm Direct LLC (Paradigm), a provider of direct mail and telemarketing services. Consideration for the acquisition was US$102 million in cash and common stock and an undisclosed amount in profit-related payments. The deal, which had been announced on November 16, 2000, will further increase the percentage of revenue and income that Mosaic generates outside Canada.
New Jersey-based Paradigm Direct is a direct marketing agency that uses a multitude of media and non-media channels to interface with customers, and ultimately acquire customers for some of the largest North American brand names in telecommunications, financial services, insurance and home services. The acquisition will give Mosaic a technology-based marketing platform to acquire customers for some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 brands.
