RBC Renews its US$40B Programme for the Issuance of Securities

The Royal Bank of Canada updated its US$40 billion Programme for the Issuance of Securities on July 16, 2010. The update included expanding the scope of securities issuable under the Programme to include both Redeemable Certificates and Exercisable Certificates in addition to Notes. The co-arrangers were Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited and Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc and the dealer group for the Programme consisted of Royal Bank of Canada Europe Limited, Barclays Bank PLC, Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, HSBC Bank plc, J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd., Merrill Lynch International, Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc and UBS Limited.

The issuer was represented internally by RBC Senior Counsel Paul Guthrie and externally by Ogilvy Renault LLP(Canadian law and EU securities law), with a team including Peter Noble and Susan Mann in London, and Andrew Fleming and Karen Galpern and Adrienne Oliver (tax) in Toronto.
