Stelco Issues Convertible Debentures

On January 21, 2002, Stelco Inc. completed the issue of $90 million aggregate principal amount of 9.5 per cent convertible unsecured subordinated debentures due to mature February 1, 2007. The debentures were issued pursuant to a prospectus supplement dated January 11, 2002, to a short-form base shelf prospectus dated January 8, 2002, which qualified the issuance of up to $300 million of debt securities, subordinated debt securities and series A convertible common shares.
