The Hospital for Sick Children Completes $200M Offering of Debentures on Private Placement Basis

On December 16, 2009, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) completed an offering of Series A Senior Unsecured Debentures due December 16, 2049 in the aggregate principal amount of $200 million. The offering was made by way of a private placement and the proceeds of the offering will be used to finance SickKids' proposed research tower and for general purposes.

The debentures were sold through a syndicate of agents co-led by RBC Dominion Securities Inc. and TD Securities Inc. that included CIBC World Markets Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and Scotia Capital Inc.

SickKids was represented in-house by Megan Evans, Director of Legal Services and by Borden Ladner Gervais LLP with a team that consisted of Heather Douglas (corporate and financial services) and Terence Lui and Shaunik Katyal (corporate and securities).
