Walied Soliman appointed Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright in Canada
Walied Soliman is now Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright in Canada, replacing Norman Steinberg in the role. He also now chairs the firm’s partnership committee, which involves client relations. Soliman has a thriving practice in takeover defence and shareholder activism. He has acted on a great number of high-profile proxy battles, including, recently, advising the board of Canadian Oil Sands in defence of the hostile takeover bid by Suncor Energy. He remains co-chair of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Canadian “special situations” team.
