Partner and member of the firm’s tax group. Clare’s practice focuses on estate, tax and succession planning, including cross-border planning, wills, trusts, estate administration, domestic contracts, charities and not-for-profit corporations, and related areas of tax law. She provides advice to business owners concerning personal tax, succession and estate planning. Clare also acts for individuals with foreign residency and citizenship issues affecting their estates and succession planning. She has represented many trust and estate beneficiaries, including foreign beneficiaries, in the resolution of disputes and litigation support. Clare advises fiduciaries and beneficiaries of estates and trusts and acts as counsel in related litigation matters. She provides counsel to professional fiduciaries, including banks and trust companies. Clare has advised on commercial trusts such as mutual fund trusts and income trusts. She is a member of the Estate Practitioners Group (Toronto), three OBA Sections (Charity and Not-for-Profit Law, Taxation Law and Trusts and Estates) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Clare is an executive board member of the Toronto Estate Planning Council. Trust and Estate Practitioner designation (TEP). Admitted to the Ontario Bar (1982).
