Marie Audren is a founding partner of Audren Rolland LLP, a boutique law firm specializing in the defense of class actions. Marie has defended clients in consumer law, banking law, product liability, and securities. She has authored several publications on class actions and has often been cited by the courts. Marie founded the class action section of the CBA – Québec Division and is a CBA National Class Actions Task Force member. She is also a member of the Québec Bar Advisory Committee on Class Actions and has chaired subcommittees on rules of practice and notices to class members. For more than ten years, she was on the Osgoode Hall National Symposium on Class Actions organizing committee and a member of the Law Commission of Ontario – Class Actions Project. Her work defending class actions has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Definitive Guide to Canada's Leading Litigation Law Firms & Attorneys (Benchmark Canada). She has also argued on the plaintiff side before the Supreme Court of Canada in a class action seeking the reimbursement of municipal taxes. In 2014, she was awarded the Lexpert Zenith Award for her work in Class Actions and the Advocatus Emeritus distinction by the Quebec Bar. She was called to the Bar in 1992.
