Jesse practises in the areas of international trade, foreign investment, cross-border regulation, and customs and commodity taxation. He advises domestic and international clients and governments on matters relating to Canadian and international trade law, including trade remedies, USMCA, CPTPP, CETA, WTO matters, and customs compliance and cross-border regulatory issues. Jesse acts as lead counsel in international trade and customs cases litigated before Canadian courts and tribunals, and has been counsel in over 130 trade remedy matters, focusing in recent years in trade remedy litigation involving Asia and Europe. He served as Chair of the International Trade Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, is a Canadian delegate to the International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Customs and Trade Facilitation, the Business Investment Advisory Committee China Task Force Working Group at the OECD, and is a Canadian delegate to the B20. A widely published author, he appears regularly in the media on international trade matters. Recognized in Chambers Global as a leading lawyer in International Trade/WTO, Legal 500, the Euromoney Expert Guides, and in The Best Lawyers in Canada (International Trade and Finance Law). Called to the Ontario Bar in 1996.
