Michael N. Melanson is a partner in the Toronto office of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC). He also is the National Practice Group Leader for Securities & Corporate Finance and the National Practice Group co-Leader for China. He specializes in corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on public and private offerings of securities, take-over bids and mergers & acquisitions, particularly for clients in the mining sector. Michael is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada and Who's Who Legal as a leading mining / natural resources lawyer. He also is a member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. Michael received a BComm from McMaster University and an LLB and MBA from the University of Toronto. Prior to entering private practice, he was a lawyer at the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Ontario Securities Commission.
