Anthony Prenol is a partner who practises in the area of intellectual property law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. He is the practice group leader of the Blakes Intellectual Property Group. Anthony handles the full range of clearance, prosecution and enforcement of intellectual property. In the trademark field, he has argued several of Canada’s leading cases involving official marks, regularly advises clients on comparative advertising matters and is a frequent lecturer on issues such as trademark use and expert evidence in trademark disputes. In the patent field, he represents clients in patent infringement and validity proceedings in a variety of technical areas and advises clients on a broad range of patent-related matters such as data protection and issues arising under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. In the industrial design field, he handles the prosecution for several significant portfolios. Anthony is the Secretary of the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s Industrial Designs Committee and is also a member of the International Trademark Association's Emerging Issues Committee. Anthony has a BMath from the University of Waterloo and a LLB from the University of Toronto. He is a lawyer, a Patent Agent and a Trade-mark Agent.
