Practises in all areas of income tax planning, including mergers and acquisitions, multijurisdictional corporate reorganizations and restructuring, private equity, international taxation and the taxation of income trusts, mutual funds and other investment vehicles. Represents taxpayers at all levels in the tax appeal process under federal and provincial taxation statutes. Authored many articles for Canadian Tax Foundation, Osgoode Hall Law School, the International Tax Review and other Euromoney publications. Member of the faculty for the 2007-11 Institutes on Tax Aspects of Mergers and Acquisitions, organized by the Penn State Dickinson School of Law and the New York City Bar Association. Served as a country reporter for Canada at the 2008 Congress of the International Fiscal Association, held in Brussels. Member of the Committee on Taxation of Business Entities of the New York City Bar Association. Recognized as a leading tax practitioner in several international publications. Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1991.
