Peter MacGowan is a partner who practises in the areas of banking and corporate finance law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Peter’s practice is centred on the structuring and documentation of domestic and cross-border financing transactions and includes syndicated financing transactions, high-yield notes offerings, asset-based financings, subordinated debt arrangements and debt restructurings. He has represented lenders and borrowers in the context of financing arrangements across a broad range of economic sectors and industries, including the hospitality industry, the manufacturing sector, retail operations, telecommunications, health care and financial services. Peter has also worked closely with private equity clients in connection with a number of acquisition and divestiture transactions, including the provision of advice regarding corporate and regulatory matters. Peter is a former Chair of the Firm’s Professional Development Committee. He is the former Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of Upper Canada College and currently serves on the Board of Governors of the University of Guelph (with service on the Audit and Governance Committees).
