Specializes in general civil litigation with an emphasis on shareholder and oppression remedy actions, class actions, contested mergers & acquisitions, insolvency, gaming and competition matters. Recent high-profile matters include acting for Mosaid Technologies Inc. in a shareholder rights plan hearing before the Ontario Securities Commission, acting for Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation in defeating certification of a $3.5-billion class action alleging OLG owed a duty of care to prevent "problem gamblers" from gambling in OLG's commercial casinos, and acting for BCE Inc. in plan of arrangement and oppression proceedings in connection with BCE's privatization transaction. Has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal Court of Canada, trial and appellate courts in Ontario, Québec and British Columbia, and administrative tribunals, including the Competition Tribunal and the Ontario Securities Commission.
