Partner of the firm and Chair of its Competition & Antitrust Law Practice Group. Practises civil litigation, with particular emphasis on competition and intellectual property law. Appeared before the Competition Tribunal, Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada as one of the counsel for the Competition Bureau in the first contested merger case under the 1986 amendments to the Competition Act. He has advised and represented businesses, trade associations and public bodies with respect to competition law issues involving cartel investigations, acquisitions, pre-notification filings, compliance programs, franchising and distribution, commercial agreements and marketing and trade practices. Current Chair of the Mergers Committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Competition Law Section; past Chair of its Criminal Matters Committee. Kevin is recognized in the Practical Law Company’s Guide to Canadian Competition/Antitrust Lawyers. Education: BA (Honours) degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1990, obtaining the gold medal in economics; JD from the University of Toronto in 1993, with honours.
