Partner at Davis LLP and leads the Aviation Law Group. Her practice focuses on aviation, corporate/commercial, education, and intellectual property. Laura is the former Vice President (Law) of Canadian Airlines International, its parent and affiliated companies. She has represented a wide variety of aviation-industry clients with aircraft acquisitions, dispositions, leases and financings, airline operational and safety matters, aviation regulatory issues, aviation claims work, airport related matters and international air law matters. Laura is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Calgary Airport Authority and Van Horne Institute; member of the legal division of ATAC, and member of the ABA (business law section), NATA, and Licensing Executives Society. She is a past President of the Air and Space Law subsection of the CBA (national). She also edited the Canadian Encyclopedia Digest (4th ed.) title on Aviation Law. In addition to her stellar education, Laura completed Oxford University’s Royal Aeronautical Society Aviation & Transportation Course. She has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal since 2004, by the Women’s Executive Network as one of “Canada’s Most Powerful Women - Top 100”, and was awarded the inaugural Lexpert® Zenith Award for leading women lawyers in Canada.
