Michael Boehm is a partner at Fasken Martineau, practising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and general corporate commercial law. He has been involved in tens of billions of dollars’ worth of negotiated and unsolicited merger and acquisition transactions, as well as billions of dollars’ worth of debt and equity financings across many industries including mining, energy, real estate, technology, life sciences, telecommunications and airlines. Michael has represented a wide range of international clients including financial institutions, hedge funds and strategic investors, with Chinese investors being an area of concentration in his practice. He is particularly involved in representing Chinese outbound investment in the global resource sector, and represented a Chinese company in China’s first hostile take-over bid in Canada which concluded successfully, as well as China’s first proxy solicitation for a TSX listed company, which also concluded successfully. Michael works with investment bankers and brokers to bring investment opportunities to his Chinese clients and contacts. Michael is a frequent speaker and presenter on M&A and financing topics at mining and investment related events in China including TSX China Roadshows.
