Dale Cunningham has practised law in Alberta since 1999 and the Northwest Territories since 2003. He joined Field Law in 2001 and practises general litigation with a focus on Aboriginal Law – primarily residential school abuse claims. Since 1999 Dale has represented Aboriginal clients in their claims for sexual and physical abuse suffered at church and government run residential schools. Dale has been a guest speaker on residential school issues at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law and at various conferences and workshops sponsored by Aboriginal organizations in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He has been asked to speak about residential school issues before members and committees of the Northwest Territories Legislature. Due to his practice, Dale often works from Field Law's Yellowknife office. Prior to practising law, Dale was a lecturer at Grant MacEwan Community College (now Grant MacEwan University) in Edmonton. Dale has also taught courses at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Business and its Department of Sociology. (Alberta Bar: 1999, Northwest Territories Bar: 2003)
