Partner. Focuses on intellectual property, technology, health care and corporate/commercial litigation. Significant experience in prosecuting and defending patent and trademark infringement actions, proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, and trademark opposition proceedings. Frequently advises on and prepares contracts and agreements, particularly in the health care and technology industry context. Represents public and private companies, venture capitalists, and other investors. Has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. Has lectured in patent law at the Queen's University Faculty of Law and writes frequently on current topics in intellectual property law. A co-author of the Canada chapter in the book Patent Enforcement in the UK and Trans-Pacific Countries. Has an active pro bono practice, including acting as duty counsel at Law Help Ontario since its inception in 2008. Previously served as a director and secretary of VIBE Arts and as a director of the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club.
