Partner. Practice focuses on all aspects of corporate and securities law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Has been involved in the structuring and execution of a variety of mergers and acquisitions transactions, including complex international mergers and hostile take-over bids, and contested shareholders meetings. Has been significantly involved in assisting companies with various corporate governance matters. Involved in representing companies and individuals in connection with enforcement matters initiated by the Ontario Securities Commission. Recognized as a leading M&A lawyer by The Best Lawyers in Canada and Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business and by The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory for corporate finance and securities. Named by Lexpert® magazine as one of “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40” in 2008. Co-author of a number of articles on directors’ duties in the context of hostile transactions and corporate governance, and has spoken at a number of conferences. Actively involved in the securities law course at Osgoode Hall Law School and teaches at the University of Toronto as an adjunct professor.
