Representative transactions include: the sale of Prime Restaurants to Fairfax Financial Holdings, Counsel Corporation's purchase of Street Capital, Morneau Shepell's acquisition of Shepell•fgi; Famous Players movie business’s acquisition by Cineplex Entertainment; the sale of Renée’s Gourmet Foods to H.J. Heinz Company of Canada; the IPOs of Morneau Sobeco, Cineplex Galaxy and Somerset Entertainment income funds; and the restructurings of Compton Petroleum, Tembec, Ainsworth Lumber and Frontera Copper. Co-heads one of the firm’s business law groups.
