Neil Henderson is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region and Toronto offices. Registered as a lawyer and also as a Patent and Trademark Agent in Canada and the US, he delivers strategic advice on matters related to IP portfolio management, particularly to manufacturing, technology and advanced research sector clients. Technologies include: complex software and hardware, advanced manufacturing, medical devices, 3D printing, advanced materials, and quantum computing. Neil has comprehensive expertise in IP procurement and enforcement, IP agreements (licensing, distribution, manufacturing), copyright protection and internet, social media and regulatory policy. He also covers IP aspects of commercial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and financings. Neil spent several years working in Japan’s dynamic technology and research sectors, is subsequently conversant in Japanese and maintains relationships with IP and business leaders in Japan and East Asia. He is consistently ranked as a leading IP lawyer by publications such as Managing Intellectual Property, IAM Patent 1000 and WTR 1000.
