Peter Choe is an IP litigator who has served in various firm leadership roles, including head of the IP department in the Gowling WLG Toronto office and co-Chair of the firm’s IP Litigation National Practice Group. Peter has expertise in patent, trademark, copyright and industrial design litigation. Peter has appeared before the trial and appellant levels of the Federal and the Ontario Courts. His litigation experience covers a variety of technologies and industries, including computer software, wireless hardware, electrical appliances, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and financial services. Peter has an honours degree in engineering physics and prior to joining the firm he worked as a design engineer in the area of cryogenics and biomagnetic imaging equipment. He has also worked in Seoul in the IP department of South Korea's largest law firm and in the legal department of an advanced technology company. Peter is a frequent lecturer on intellectual property topics, and has taught advanced IP classes at the University of Western Ontario Law School, and has served on the University of Toronto Faculty of Law’s Working Group in IP. Peter is a Fellow of the IPIC, where he has served on the Litigation Committee, and was a founding director of the Korean-Canadian Lawyers Association.
