Robert is a senior leader of Gowling WLG's Commercial Litigation Group. He is recognized by his peers as one of the top litigators in Canada. He has extensive experience as a trial and appellate lawyer and as a strategic problem-solver in complex, multijurisdictional disputes, working closely with clients and counsel across Canadian provinces, the USA, Europe and the Far East. Robert appears as counsel before all levels of courts in Canada, including the Supreme Court, as well as before numerous administrative tribunals and international arbitrators. Robert’s areas of expertise include class actions, securities litigation, financial services and capital markets litigation, including 29 years representing Canadian and foreign banks, investment dealers and accounting firms, directors’ & officers’, national and international alternative dispute resolutions, shareholders’ rights and “activism” and very significant corporate and commercial litigation.
