Margaret is a partner in the Toronto office of McMillan where she practises in the capital markets group. She is recommended as a leading corporate, debt products and international finance transactions lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and as a leading capital markets and investment funds lawyer in PLC’s cross-border handbooks. She is repeatedly recommended in Corporate Finance & Securities and Investment Funds & Asset Management in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, and in Corporate, Mutual Funds and Securities Law by Best Lawyers. Margaret received a Master of Arts from Cambridge University and received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1983. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. From 1990 to 1991 Margaret was seconded to the Ontario Securities Commission’s corporate finance branch to assist in various policy initiatives. In 1994 she served as a consultant to the financial services policy branch of the Ontario Ministry of Finance on interprovincial securities harmonization. Margaret is the former Chair of the McMillan LLP Board of Partners and the Board of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario. She is the co-Chair of the Board of the Canadian Art Foundation and is the Secretary of the Board of the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.
