Cathy Singer participates in many aspects of corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions, including advisory mandates for issuers, investment dealers and independent committees. Extensive experience in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions (including related party transactions) and investment funds. She also advises on all aspects of investment management and investment fund clients, including representing their interests before securities regulators. From mid-1996 to 1999, she was seconded to the Ontario Securities Commission as general counsel, involving a broad range of securities transactions and development of several significant policy initiatives. Ms. Singer had extensive involvement with take-over bids and related matters and was the staff member responsible for the reformulation of the rule in Ontario relating to going-private and other related party transactions.
