Jules Charette is a senior partner in Norton Rose Canada’s Montréal office and co-Chair of our Canadian tax team and Chair of our Canadian estates, trusts and wealth management team. He specializes in most fields related to corporate tax at the domestic and international levels, including mergers & acquisitions, reorganizations, capital markets, project financing, structured finance, derivatives, financial instruments, privatizations, cross-border transactions and executive compensation. He is also experienced in estate planning for individuals, tax litigation, negotiations with tax authorities, pension plans and charities. He advises a number of major Canadian public companies. He is a member of various organizations, including the Canadian Tax Foundation and the International Fiscal Association. Mr Charette sits on the boards of a number of private companies and charitable organizations. He was called to the Québec Bar in 1981.
