Diverse practice in the labour and employment law area, with particular emphasis on employment contract preparation, employment standards, employee terminations, human rights, workers compensation, pensions and other benefits. Extensive experience in administrative law (including judicial review proceedings), education law, access to information and privacy law, Charter and other constitutional litigation, and professional ethics. Has appeared before numerous administrative tribunals and all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Chair of the ethics committee of the Law Society of PEI. PEI Bar admission course instructor on Ethics. Graduated from Dalhousie University (LLB, 1979). Admitted to the PEI Bar in 1980; appointed QC in 1996.
