Partner in the Calgary office whose practice focuses on tax law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, public and private financings and financial restructurings. Mr. Weekes has advised extensively on the tax considerations of non-resident investment in Canada. He has written articles and lectured on topics related to his area of practice. Mr. Weekes is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Law Society of Upper Canada, Law Society of British Columbia, Canadian Tax Foundation, International Fiscal Association and Canadian Petroleum Tax Society. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (LLB, 1982) and the University of Toronto (BSc, 1977). Called to the Ontario Bar in 1984, the British Columbia Bar in 1990 and the Alberta Bar in 1998.
