David Weinberger is a partner in the Toronto office. His practice focuses on mergers & acquisitions (public and private), capital markets transactions, and private equity transactions. Experienced in advising bidders and targets in hostile and negotiated M&A transactions, he has advised underwriters and issuers on numerous financing transactions, including IPOs, bought deals, private placements and rights offerings, in a variety of sectors, with a special focus on technology, gaming, real estate and REITs, and diversified products. He also advises Canadian issuers and investment dealers on various regulatory compliance matters, including listings, governance and disclosure issues, independent committee matters and long term compensation structures. His private equity practice focuses on advising on public company acquisitions and exit transactions. He has guest lectured on corporate law matters with Osgoode Hall Law School and has been a course instructor for The Law Society of Upper Canada’s Bar Admission Course in business law.
